APCO Committee Structure

Most of the Academy's work takes place in Committees. Concepts and ideas are discussed and then presented to the Executive Board for approval. The Committees are:

 

Audit/Budget: Responsible for overseeing the financial health of the Academy. With help from the Treasurer, it manages income and expenses.

 

Awards: Determines the nominees for both the Academy's Annual Awards and those presented annually by the Ohio Pharmacists Association.

 

Continuing Education: Coordinates CE activity (including the arrangement of dinner sessions), and regularly reports program attendance to the Ohio Board of Pharmacy.

 

Golf Outing: Plans the annual outing and dinner to recognize the APCO scholarship recipients.

 

Legislative: Informs Members of both new and impending state and federal legislation which will impact the profession.

 

Membership: Responsible for both recruiting new members and coordinating dues renewals.

 

Nominations: Develops Members who will lead the Academy in the future.

 

Public Relations: Works by informing the public about the value of talking to and obtaining health information from their pharmacist.

 

Scholarship: Notifies students at the state's four colleges of pharmacy about the Academy scholarship awards, reviews submitted applications and determines recipients.

 

T.I.P. (Telephone Information Program): Collects information about confirmed illegal activity (forged prescriptions, etc.) and then alerts member pharmacies in Central Ohio.

 

Heritage: Make recommendations to the Executive Committee for the display of items of historical value and arranging programs of historical and significant interest to the Academy
